The Lingo Group started in 1982 as a turf maintenance company. Everything else, the landscaping, the irrigation division, the lighting and the masonry, grew up around turf. More than forty years later we are still doing it, and a good share of that work is on surfaces that get played on: ball fields, practice areas, play zones and heavily used commercial lawns across Bucks County.

Why Bucks County Fields Fail

Most of the soil around here is heavy and clay-dominated. It compacts hard under foot traffic and holds water at the surface instead of letting it move down through the profile.

Add a full sports calendar and the top few inches turn into something closer to pavement than a growing medium. That is why so many local fields go thin in the same places every year: between the hashes, in front of the goal, along the base paths.

Fixing it means dealing with compaction and drainage first, and seed second.

Sports Turf FAQs

How long does a field renovation take before we can play on it?

It depends on the scope and whether you go with sod or seed. Sod gives you the fastest turnaround, which is why in-season and shoulder-season renovations usually use it. Seed is less expensive but needs a full establishment window. We will tell you honestly which one fits your calendar.

Do you install synthetic turf as well as natural grass?

Yes. We install both, and we will tell you where each one makes sense. Natural grass is usually the better answer for a full field. Synthetic is usually the better answer for high-traffic zones, play areas and fitness spaces where grass will not survive.

Can you work on our existing irrigation system instead of replacing it?

In most cases, yes. We have serviced systems we installed decades ago. Dead spots, puddling and low pressure are usually repairable.

Do you handle drainage problems on fields?

Yes. Regrading, catch basins and surface water management are part of the same crew’s work. On a field that holds water, drainage is normally the first thing we address.
