Landscaping In Bucks County, PA
The Lingo Group has been landscaping property in Bucks County since 1982, when the company started life as a turf maintenance operation. We still run out of the same yard on Timber Lane in Chalfont, which puts most of the county inside a short drive and is the reason a crew can come back to a job the same week rather than the following month.
Landscaping here is not generic work. Most of Bucks County sits on silt loam over clay and shale, which drains slowly and turns a badly graded planting bed into a bathtub. The frost line runs to roughly three feet, so anything carrying a footing has to go below it. We sit on the 6b to 7a line, which sets the plant palette, and deer pressure is heavy enough through the townships that plant selection is a design decision rather than an afterthought. Every proposal we write starts with grade and drainage and works up from there.

What areas do you cover for landscaping?
We work across central and lower Bucks County from our yard in Chalfont. Doylestown, Newtown, Warrington, Chalfont and Buckingham each have their own page, and we also cover Yardley, Langhorne, New Hope and the townships in between.
Do you handle design and installation, or only one of them?
Both, and maintenance afterwards. Design, installation and maintenance are divisions of the same company, which means one point of accountability instead of a designer and an installer pointing at each other.
When is the best time to start a landscaping project?
Construction work runs spring through late fall and planting is strongest in spring and again in early fall. Design is best done over the winter, because the jobs drawn in January are the ones installed in April rather than August.
My yard holds water after every storm. Is that a landscaping fix?
Usually yes, and it is the first thing we look at. Most standing water here is a grading problem, a downspout dumping at the foundation, or beds built on compacted builder subgrade. That gets solved before anything decorative goes in.
Will deer destroy a new planting?
Deer pressure is real in Bucks County and we plan around it rather than pretend otherwise. That means a backbone of material deer generally leave alone, with the vulnerable plants kept close to the house or protected.
Do you offer maintenance after the installation?
Yes. Landscape maintenance and turf management are ongoing services, and most installation clients stay on for maintenance so the planting actually reaches the state it was designed for.
